Downsizing from a larger home, but not wanting to compromise on quality construction and good design for this intimate space, Tricia Bryant of Concierge Home Solutions completed this renovation as both client and general contractor. Employing many of the lessons learned through similar renovations, and a clear sense of the final design, Tricia and her team gutted most of the rooms, including the kitchen, closets and bath to allow for substantial upgrades and rerouting of the plumbing.
New crown moulding, paneled doors and Baldwin brass hardware throughout compliment the new LED lighting which was rewired and upgraded. For climate control and energy efficiency, the window AC units were removed and a ductless central air system was installed. The kitchen was rebuilt using custom cabinetry and new appliances, all highlighted by the restored heart-pine flooring discovered under layers of linoleum.
For better flow and use of space, Tricia and her team created a home office by combining an old pantry and closet space, and the breakfast nook was converted into a walk-in closet.
